About

Synopsis? Nah I’m too simple

A lengthening description of Paul Connolley (Todd Reynard, Fox, Foxy, Shunuk) so that you can get to know me before you plow into my babble.

The Baby

  • Preston born,
  • Preston bred,
  • Brought up on Superted (and Moomins and the odd spattering of the Magic Roundabout and Pob).

The We’un

Always the quiet one at school, I got along by keeping my head down and playing lots of football and swimming every Thursday. I always went to see my Gran at weekends and never missed a Boxing Day with my entire family (approx. 40) in that cramped terraced house down Plungy

The teen

Moving away from Preston I retreat to a musty room to glue and paint my Warhammer models, planning for my next defeat against my tactically superior uncle. I make a few close friends who are to define the man I am

The man

After passing through my initiation, I succeed at French and Maths as my raison d’être only to discover that I have a skill at computers which I would wish to pursue to the expense of my curricular career. Hence I finish my educational journey with a qualification in computing and a degree in nerdery. I shed my nerdery scales when out working at the pub or out on the town.

I enjoy a great deal of music thanks to the people around me. I thank my mother for finding the soft spot for country, soul and ballad. My father for the Beatles, soul, and his unending passion for discovering new music and styles. I thank my sister for finding the chav in me so that I could suppress it beyond discovery; seriously though, I thank her for keeping me modern without making me look like a total townie.

Almost a pacifist except for my taste for games like Max Payne and UT2K4. I don’t believe in unnecessary violence and believe in standing up for your family and friends. I do this in honour of all the friends (from being an infant to a young adult) who stood up for me when I was a half-pint who didn’t know his strength.
