I don’t often use eBay but it’s insulting when someone tells me that my browser is out of date and needs upgrading. Especially insulting when I’m using Safari 3 Beta and it tells me to use Firefox.

The eBay webpage tells me I’m using Safari 1.0 and I should upgrade to Firefox

What cowboy code are they using that can’t tell when I’m using a specific browser. Surely it’s not too difficult. Admittedly they aren’t preventing me from using the site; they are giving me an annoying message at the top of every page.

Irritating.
