A friend of mine will be doing this very thing. Touring africa. The Overland Club offers various adventure holidays to Africa, South America, Australia, and other such backwater areas. Quoting directly from them:

My friend will be spending several months in Africa taking it easy and roughing it in a truck. You cook, wash, and clean for yourself and the group you are with. My esteemed colleague is setting up a blog to record his travels and I’m hoping he’ll be sharing some photographs from his digital camera.
