Blog » General: Fox manifestation

Perhaps manifestation could be seen as an odd choice of word. Not, perhaps, when you consider the sparsity in which they reveal themselves to the human population.

A fox appeared whilst I was driving home this evening. At first I thought it was an over-sized red squirrel. Within seconds, I realised my mistake and, I began to observe its flight across the road.

Fluid in its movements, it slid across the paved ground like a ghost. The only distinguishing marks being its long snout, and the bushy tail which pointed, accurately, away from its target, which was the other side of the road. He must have been snacking outside the telecoms building where the grass is because there is nothing really there other than the rest of the busy Sunday evening town centre. The other side led to the bushes and the railway track. If he lives there with his family, he will have seen a great deal of sadness and death. The corner, which I was passing, has played host to several car accidents. In homage, I will never speed along that stretch again.
